Inflection points are never obvious. In fact, most people barely notice their world changing while it’s happening. But once it’s happened, there’s no denying the evidence.
It’s time for marketers to confront the numbers.
1876 – The number of marketing technology companies included in Scott Brinker’s 2015 supergraphic.
947 – The number of companies he included just last year.
200 – The number of technologies we integrate with.
65 – The average number of applications used by marketers in enterprises.
Technology and data have exploded marketing into a thousand new pieces. But it isn’t all sunshine and flowers.
67 – The percentage of brand respondents to a recent survey that felt they delivered better customer experiences than their competitors.
51 – The percentage of customers from the same survey who said they switched because the experience wasn’t good enough. Ouch.
Marketing’s got a fragmentation problem. And it’s starting to hurt customer experiences.
