On May 30th, LiveRamp hosted RampUp 2013. Hundreds of marketers and ad tech leaders came together to discuss the convergence of offline and online data.
Today, watch LiveRamp’s Dan Scudder give the audience an overview of offline to online onboarding.
A few key points from the presentation:
- The offline CRM data that marketers have often isn’t used in the online environment. An onboarder creates an “offline to online” match and plugs that into a marketer’s ad platform.
- The other important role of the onboarder is “managing privacy for consumers.” The process is designed to maintain anonymity, give consumers choice, and protect data.
- Use cases include CRM retargeting (“the low hanging fruit for marketers today”), coordinating multi-channel campaigns, measuring the impact of online campaign for offline attribution, site personalization, and using CRM data to inform your “analytics and decision engines.”
- After doing this for the last few years, we have “a very interesting vantage point” around how onboarding plugs into different ad tech components and what the trends around onboarding have been.
