Engineering Intern Spotlight: Josh Lang, Winter ’15

Marketing Innovation

Interning at LiveRamp was probably one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had.  I was given projects that exposed me to new languages and concepts in a very hands-on way: learning by doing and getting support from my mentor along the way when necessary.  The best part was that interns are given the opportunity to switch teams, so I was able to get a taste for both front and back end software engineering. While I was interning, I performed statistical analysis and developed MapReduce jobs as part of internal investigations as well as gained experience with Ruby on Rails and Javascript libraries by adding features to both our customer facing and internal websites.  Not only did what I was able to learn exceed my expectations, but the strong team environment was also something I wasn’t quite anticipating.  Team lunches, weekly company-wide meetings, intramural sports, and after-work social events integrate you into the team and provide you many chances to meet and get to know your co-workers and fellow interns.

If you are a self-motivated person with a desire to learn, I could not encourage you more to apply to LiveRamp.
